Langoué bay trekking program

The Baï de Langoué is one of the largest clearing-saline in the Ivindo National Park with an area of 12.5 ha and a length of 850 m and width of 350 m. The surrounding forest is home to a population of forest elephants, up to 90 elephants can be observed per day from the viewing platform during the high season, with more frequentation at night. Besides the elephant, you will be able to observe western lowland gorillas, African buffaloes, river pigs, and a resident population of sitatunga as well as many species of birds.

This hike can be combined with the Kongou Falls hiking program

Your welcome for hiking at Baï de Langoué

For your support, we offer you two possibilities to start this excursion, either you arrive by train in this case we welcome you at Booué station, or it is the continuation of the hike of the Kongou falls.

You will be supervised by 5 guides to ensure your safety during your travels and ensure the logistics of your hike in the tropical forest, it takes about 3 to 4 hours of walking to reach the observatory where you will spend the night

Observation of the wildlife that frequent the bay of Langoué

During the night you will have the opportunity to observe the wild fauna, in the morning our guides will make you discover the bay and its surroundings on foot. In the evening you will return on foot to the Langoué camp where you will spend the night.

Note : You are in a natural environment, the bay is a place where wildlife, especially the elephant, come to feed. However, we do not guarantee that you will be able to observe all the wildlife during your stay at the baï.

Return to the town of Booué

You leave the Langoué camp on foot (one hour's walk) to go to the car park where you will be picked up by quad towards the Dilo camp to board a canoe, after 1h30 of navigation on the Ogooué river you arrive near the town of Booué where you will be welcomed by our team who will drop you off at the station or at another place of your choice.
